Food Trip in Downtown Vancouver: DD Mau

It's my fault.

When I asked my sisters to watch Food Network I never thought they'll like it. We watched an episode of You Gotta Eat Here and they liked it so much that Therese made a blog post about the restaurants that are in Vancouver for us to try.

After visiting Argo Cafe, we went to DD Mau last July 9. DD Mau is a BÁNH MÌ restaurant. It's a Vietnamese sandwiches place. It's featured in You Gotta Eat Here and we just had to try what John Catucci tried.

DD Mau is less than a 5-minute walk from the Yaletown-Roundhouse SkyTrain Canada Line Station. It's a small place with only a few tables. We took our spot in the bar stool facing the street. Therese ordered two half sandwiches: The Classic and Lemongrass Chicken.

Meanwhile, I had a Vermicelli Bowl with three meat: Grilled Lemongrass Chicken, BBQ Pork, and Spring Roll.

I didn't try what Therese ordered because I know how huge of a serving mine is. I enjoyed the lemongrass chicken and BBQ pork. The meal was alright. It's not spectacular. I don't think I'll be bringing Jomar here soon when he's back in town.

Mangdang Gen San Experience!

It was my first time in Mindanao last weekend. I went to the Land of the Champions and Land of Tuna, General Santos City, Philippines. It was a fantastic experience! Day 1 - Magandang GenSan! Jomar, Mam Chelle, and I left Makati around 6:00 am for our flight at 7:20 am. After rushing through the airport and paying the terminal fee, the plane took off at around 7:45 and we arrived at the General Santos City International Airport at about 9:30 am. Upon deplaning, we met with Ms. Aileen and her son, Miggy, and Vincent. All of us rode the van waiting for us from the East Asia Royale Hotel. We left our things and rest for a while in our rooms. After a few minutes, we went to Ranchero's Grill and Restaurant for lunch.

Exploring Cineplex in Vancouver

When Jomar and I got married 6 months ago, we agreed to watch a movie at the cinema once a month (minimum). For the 5 of those 6 months, we have been watching movies at Cineplex Cinemas Marine Gateway and VIP. This month we decided to watch at Fifth Avenue Cinemas. First one inside the theater! Fifth Avenue Cinemas As the name implies, this cinema is at 5th Avenue corner Burrard. Walking distance (if you like walking) to both home and work. This location is restricted to age 19+ because they serve alcohol at the Licensed Bar and Lounge. Licensed Lounge Theater There are 5 in this location and the one we went to is smaller than I expected and it's ground level. The seats were low. April date Food and Snack I was disappointed by the food offering. I don't know but I was expecting it to have as many food choices as they have in their Marine branch but they only serve like 9 items and even the snack bar didn't have Outtakes - only popcorn.
