Hello 2019!

Image
2018 has been a busy year. I stopped writing here mid of last year because I got promoted at work (yay!) but has been really busy.

One of my goal for this year (and was my goal last year) is to write 1 post each week. Last year is also the first time I didn't have a year-end summary. Oh well. Let's  be positive as we welcome the new year.

New Year's Eve I arrived in Canada last 2015 and I spent NYE for 2016, 2017, and 2018 thinking and dreaming of watching the fireworks in Downtown Vancouver. I didn't go those previous years because of the cold and crowd. I told my brother during my first NYE in Canada that we should book a hotel in Downtown where we could see the fireworks, avoid the crowd, and be warm.

Pan Pacific Hotel That dream came true NYE of 2019. Last September, I booked a hotel room at Pinnacle Hotel. However, in November, I learned that the fireworks display won't be visible from any of their rooms which is unfortunate. I, then, called Pan Pacific Hotel …

Vacation in South Korea

Image
Last October 7 to 10, 2011, I was given a chance to visit South Korea. I was able to see a glimpse of Seoul, Busan (Pusan), and Daegu. I will share our planned and actual itinerary, budget and actual spending, places I suggest you see based on what I saw, and food to try. For this vacation, I was with current and former office mates.

Day 1 - October 7, 2011
Our flight with Cebu Pacific departed Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3, Manila, the Philippines bound for Gimhae International Airport, Busan (Pusan), South Korea and was 15 minutes delayed. I would say that as compared to my flights with Philippine Airlines (PAL) during my US and Hong Kong trip, CebuPac was way far better even if there are delays. We left at around 4:30 pm and arrived in Busan at 9:30 pm because of the time difference. It seems that the flight is 5 hours long, even if it was only 4 hours! Oh, before I forget I highly recommend the Ham and Cheese Croissant for P100.

Beaches in Laiya

Image
Last May 2011, we had our company outing in Laiya Batangas. We stayed in Kabayan Beach Resort. It's pretty decent for team buildings, but I think there are better resorts around the area. Anyway, here is the picture I took of the sea and the beach.

This trip made me realize how much I love staying in sea water! My colleagues and I were enjoying the soft sand (almost muddy) and warm summer breeze. It was one fun trip!

Hundred Islands in Alaminos

Image
As mentioned in my other post, last April 30 to May 1 my high school friends and I went to a Bolinao-Hundred Island Travel Tour through Explore Island Philippines. Now I will share with you guys the pictures of our second day in Pangasinan.

After our first day in Bolinao, we checked in Villa Antolin. It was a simple yet amazingly clean hotel with warm water shower and soft beds. I had such a good night sleep that I was wide awake and enthusiastic for the Hundred Islands tour. Look at all the pictures we took below and the fantastic view we when we walked up the Governor's Island. It is one of just three islands that you could walk on.

Places to Visit in Bolinao

Image
Last April 30 to May 1, my high school friends and I joined a Package Tour for a trip to Bolinao and Alaminos in the province of Pangasinan. April 30 is day 1 of our vacation in Bolinao. If you want to avail of tour packages at reasonable prices and avoid the stress of planning your itinerary and looking for places to visit and hotel to stay in, I suggest Explore Island Philippines.

Enchanted Cave According to the man who served as our guide in the Enchanted Cave, the outside before the entrance of the actual cave are parts of the sea before. Just imagine how high the sea level back then! Meanwhile, the inside of the cave is just fascinating as it is part of a bigger cave system (or something like that) in the area. If you're going to have a swim (which I haven't experienced), I suggest you bring goggles so you could see those sharp rocks. Be careful and enjoy! The Enchanted Cave is along Patar road, and it's open 8:30 am to 6:00 pm.

Puerto Galera Trip

Image
I was in Puerto Galera for a three-day-two-night vacation last March 2011. Here are some of the pictures I took using the cameras of Pol Faustino and Jeje Lao. During our vacation, we experienced playing on the beach and riding the banana boat (which is pretty cool). We also visited the Tamaraw Falls located beside the highway.
