Vacation: Third Day Back Home with QSR Family

Image
It's my third day back home and it feels great to take a break from my routine life in Canada. Date with Jomar When I planned my itinerary for this vacation, Jomar requested that we have a date. I moved things around and told him that I would free up Tuesday morning and we could go out then. I asked him to surprise me with what he had in mind. Manila There is a building along Pedro Gil that look likes a dome. I have been curious about it but didn't thought of checking it out. Apparently, it's the National Museum Planetarium. It was close for so long until recently and Jomar wants us to visit the Planetarium while it's still open. We went there at around 9:00am after having the remaining Kare-Kareng Gulay for breakfast. The exhibit was okay. There was nothing that made me say wow and it was last updated 2009(?) so the information is a bit outdated. National Museum Planetarium Jomar also wanted to see one of the shows which costs Php 50.00. It was a 30-minut

Food Trip near La Salle Taft: Exile on Main Street

Image
+Joshua  has been raving that we try this restaurant along Leon Guinto Street, walking distance from De La Salle University-Manila. Last August 16 (Saturday), we (+Jomar, +Wayne, and Mitch) gave it a shot. We went there a little before 6:00 PM, and thankfully, we arrived at that time! There's a board games night (every Saturday from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM) organized by a group of people so the place could get noisy and crowded during Saturday evening. According to Josh and his friend, it's not usually like that. The Service The service is okay. The waiter who served us didn't smile at all. He also looked tired and impatient. At first, I was a bit disappointed by that, but I just told myself that it's okay. I mean, I could imagine how tired he might be running around getting and serving orders from all the people inside such a small place! Still, the service could have been better. The Food What it lacked on service, it compensates with the yummy food.  +Wayne  h

A Visit to National Museum

Image
Last Sunday, I got a chance to visit the National Museum in Manila. They finished renovating the ground floor while renovations are still ongoing on the levels above. All the doorknobs have N and M in it - how cool is that! I went to the National Museum back in college as a requirement for our class. I don't remember much from that visit because I am not good with appreciating paintings and sculptures. Nonetheless, I had fun going around the more than ten exhibits available on the ground floor of the museum. The entrance fee was free last Sunday (I am not sure if this is an every Sunday thing) but still few people were there.

Review: The Bayleaf Hotel in Intramuros

Image
Last December 6, 2013, our company had annual planning. We wanted to conduct it within Metro Manila, but the ambiance should not feel like you're in the busy metropolis. After searching and thinking, we end up with The Bayleaf Hotel in Intramuros. Morning View from the Conference Room For Php 1,250.00 per person, we had a conference room (complete with a television, marker, whiteboard, etc.) from 8:00am to 5:00pm, AM and PM snacks of our choice, and breakfast buffet at 9 Spoons . Not bad of a deal, right?
