Canada Day 2023

Happy Canada Day! Our celebration began last night when we had dinner at the only Indigenous restaurant in Vancouver, Salmon n' Bannock. We enjoyed Elk Steak and Bison Soup, among other dishes.

Today, our day started with breakfast at Tim Hortons. It's as cliche as it gets. Then, we walked across Granville Bridge on a beautiful clear day to Downtown Vancouver.

We were walking along Howe Street when my husband suggested we stop by and check out the activities happening in the northern plaza of the Vancouver Art Gallery. It was the Taiwanese Canadian Cultural Festival, and we enjoyed Taiwanese Sausage and had a Red Bean Wheel Cake for the first time.

Then, Canada Place is as bust as it gets. There's a main stage, a kids' area, and much more. We even saw a Filipino tinikling performance in Jack Poole Plaza before deciding to enjoy poutine and burger from one of the many food trucks.

Happy Canada Day!

As per our tradition, we got ice cream from Purdys before going to my parent's place in Richmond, BC, where we spent the rest of the day watching every Canadian sports team we followed, lose or draw. The Blue Jays and Whitecaps lost while the Canada Men's National Team drew. Spending time with my parents and siblings is always fun. My love tank is filled every time I go there.

Review: The Rise of Food Delivery Apps in Vancouver

Now a days, it's so easy to get food from restaurant from another part of the city. With the rise of food delivery apps like UberEats, DoorDash, SkipTheDishes, and so many others, it's so convenient to get your favorite burger without having to leave the comfort of your homes. This post is my review of each apps that I have used and the results. DoorDash Let's start with the one I use almost once a week. At Gumstix , we have our team weekly lunch and I am the one assigned to arrange food delivery or make reservation on rare occassions that we decide to leave our office. DoorDash is my go to app because of the Group Order feature. I just have to pick a restaurant, click Group Order, and send the generated link to my colleagues so they can add their order. Churros Hunt is Over! The Richmond Night Market Adventure

I don't think people read my blog so I found work in Canada! Yay! To end my first week at work, Therese and Alyanna went to check out the Richmond Night Market. It was AWESOME! Seriously, you should check it out. The entrance is $3.25 for general admission. What did we enjoy while inside? The Games - it was Alyanna's first time to try the carnival, you-have-no-chance-of-winning games. Haha! We tried two games, the pop the balloon with dart to get a stuff toy, which we won (Thanks to Alyanna's strong arms). The other game we played was shoot round hoops to bottles, which we failed. It was fun.
