Iloilo Innovation Tour: Food, Friends, and Events

Flying in of Iloilo Monday evening of May 11, 2015, and flying out midnight of May 13, 2015, was one of the quickest adventures I had in recent months. My good friend Jerome asked me to host one of his events. Below are some of the very few photos that I have of the short, sweet stay.

Jomar and I will have our Philippine Catholic wedding in July. To enlighten those who want to have their Sacrament of Holy Matrimony in the beautiful and historic Manila Cathedral, I will share with you how much it cost. Why did we pick Manila Cathedral? I want to say that because it's historic and beautiful. But honestly, it's because Manila Cathedral has relevant information on their website for a couple like us living and already legally married abroad. Ms. Donna also responds to our emails and calls promptly. The bonus is it's historic and beautiful. According to one of my Ninang, " ang haba ng walk down the aisle mo ." I didn't think of that. Vacation: Seventh Day Back Home

It's my last full day in Philippines and I am heartbroken that I will be far from Jomar again. Today, we had breakfast in KFC. KFC back here is so much better than the one in Canada. Sorry KFC Canada. I also missed their gravy. KFC After having breakfast, we went to Salon de Matt. Haircut is so much cheaper here. For $10 CAD, I could get a great haircut plus tip. In Canada a haircut would cost $30. Moreover, the haircut in Manila includes shampoo. New Haircut Picture After getting a haircut, we went to SM Megamall. My mom asked us to buy contact lenses for her. I also end up buying her preferred coffee from the Philippines. Lastly, for myself I purchased Goldilocks baked goodies. Coffee mother wants. We were supposed to go straight to Glorietta for lunch with Ms. Aileen. Unfortunately, we forgot our gifts for her back in the condo. My birthday is coming up (it's on November 8) and instead of gifts, I am hoping you could donate to Compassion.ca, specifically in helping Kenyan families rebuild their lives by providing stable homes. With Safe Housing , we can all make a difference in providing stable homes to 149 families in 11 centers across Kenya. We all dream of having our own house. I know I do. But when we think about having our own home, we think about how many bedroom and bathrooms we want, what color scheme we will use on the wall, the style of our kitchen. Meanwhile, these families just want shelter from strong winds and torrential rain and I hope that we can make a difference.
