PNE Fair 2022

After Sunday Mass, Jomar and I took Bus 14 all the way to the PNE Fair.

Food, Rides, Raffle, and so much more

It reminded me of my high school fair, but with more things to do, like watching a dog show, going to the petting zoo, admiring the dinosaur display, and rides.

I am at the PNE Fair

Of course, my priority is food. So we walked around the whole PNE maybe 2-3 times to look at all available food items and buy the one that caught our fancy.

Dinosaur Display in Toon City - it seems like they all have sensors. They move, and their eyes blink when someone is nearby.

We enjoyed the corn, corn dog, rice served in a pineapple (literally), and fried Oreos. Unfortunately, there were too many fried things, and everything smelled like oil.

It reminded me of the sweet corn they sell along Katipunan Avenue.

It reminded me of the "Wicked Oreos" from Flaming Wings in Katipunan Avenue when I was in high school.

We should make visiting the fair part of our annual tradition.

How to quickly get the Sacrament of Confirmation in Manila?

Jomar and I have not yet received the Sacrament of Confirmation which is a requirement to receive the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony. At the recommendation of Manila Cathedral, we looked at both Quiapo Church and National Shrine of Saint Michael and the Archangels (NSSMA). We decided to go to NSSMA for confirmation the day after we arrived from Canada. What to prepare? Bring the original and a photocopy of your Baptismal Certificate Wear a white shirt with a collar Be ready to donate Php 650.00 Talk to friends to be your Ninong and Ninang (Godparents) and yes, you need a pair. What to expect? We arrived there at 7:30 am because jetlag is real and we were awake by 4:00 am. There were around 13 people waiting. At 7:45 am, the security guard started giving out forms which we had to complete. Then, at around 8:00 am, he started giving out numbers. Day 1: YVR to SFO to ONT | Visiting Southern California

We're flying again! First, some life updates. Last week, Jomar received news at work which would change our financial strategy. Thankfully, we booked our flight for this trip last January. It also helps that we have an emergency fund, and I still have work, so hopefully, things don't change too much. Alaska Airlines to United Airlines Three days before our flight, I received an email from Alaska Airlines that our flight had been cancelled and we needed to rebook. I calmly called the number they provided, and they rebooked us at no extra charge to United Airlines with a layover at San Francisco International Airport (SFO). Our original flight meant flying out of Vancouver International Airport (YVR) at 6:00 AM with a 5 hours layover in Seattle. With the United flight, we leave Vancouver at 12:00 NN with a 2-hour layover in San Francisco. It surprisingly worked out.
