Day 1 of Victoria Trip | 3 Days 2 Nights Long Weekend Trip to Victoria, BC

I have been eager to travel since the pandemic began. My mom is celebrating her 60th birthday this year and on the same weekend as Father's day which means my siblings and I can plan a trip and won't feel guilty splurging them a little bit.

Day 1 (June 18, 2021)

We started our trip with an Uber ride to my parent's place in Richmond, BC. My dad is so excited to see me 😂! He cooked all my favourite dishes because I know I will feast on them - he prepared tortang talong, boneless bangus, and chicken adobo. Sarap!

At 11:30, we started our drive to Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal. We got lost because of Apple Maps and we were teasing my younger sister about it the whole time. I guess it won't be a family road trip if you don't make the wrong exit and have to find a way out the highway.

Spirit of Vancouver Island Ferry

Our boarding time is 1:00 PM and it's our first time riding the ferry. It was a short 90-minute ride. The water was calm and you can clearly see the islands along the way.

Yay for vacation with Jomar!

Happy birthday, Ma! Happy Father's Day, Pa!

Fairmont Hotel Empress

From Swartz Bay Ferry Terminal, it's another roughly 30-minute drive to Downtown Victoria. Jomar and I stayed at the beautiful Fairmont Hotel Empress. My parents are teasing me about ghosts because the hotel is more than a hundred years old. I told them ghosts are fine because they'll be rich ghosts. 😂 I got a room with a view.

Oh and I need to share that the Fairmont Hotel Empress has the nicest staff!

I would like to thank RBC and my credit card points which allowed us to stay in this hotel. Yay for points!

Inner Harbour

After a 30-minute rest, Jomar and I started walking along the Inner Harbour towards Fisherman's Wharf where we're going to have dinner.

Fisherman's Wharf

Jomar and I ordered a lot from Barb's Fish and Chips (read my post here). We enjoyed our dinner at nearby Fisherman's Wharf Park. My mom ordered paella (her favourite dish!) from a different restaurant and we had a good time.

Sunset at Inner Harbour

After dinner, they dropped us off at our hotel. Then after 30 minutes they came back on foot and we took a stroll near the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia.

It's so nice to be able to travel again!
