Coldest Day Ever!

I arrived in Canada in 2015, I've lived in Metro Vancouver ever since, but today is the first time I experienced -8 degrees Celsius (17.6 Fahrenheit). I know other places in Canada get way more snow than us and get way colder, but this is unusual for this city.

This is us on our way to work, Monday morning.


Jomar and I had to dress in layers for the first time this week. We had a shirt, sweater/cardigan, scarf, gloves, and boots. We also had to stroll because it's hard to judge a patch of clear, slippery ice. Otherwise, it's beautiful. Growing up in a country without snow, it still feels magical.

Jomar and I decided to challenge ourselves by not eating at restaurants for a month. It's really difficult for me because I grew up in a family where we always dine out (minimum of once a week) or buy food from restaurants or fast food. Rules and Exceptions No eating at restaurants (which includes coffee shop) that it's just the two of us. We can eat food from restaurants if someone else is paying for it (this is here because of my weekly work team lunch). We can eat out if there's a birthday celebration (this is here because Therese is celebrating her birthday this month). We can eat out during our once a month movie date. Lifestyle change We're in a grocery store 1-2 times a week. I cook more frequently which I don't mind. I lost 5lbs in the first week that we didn't eat out. Review of MMDA's EDSA Bus Segregation

Ever since I started working (that was roughly two years ago), I would prefer to ride the bus on my way home. From Ayala near Paseo loading station, I would ride the bus that goes to SM Fairview. Most of the time it's chaotic. People would push each other (just like in the MRT) to get inside the bus. Others would prefer to wait for a more spacious looking bus in the hopes of getting a seat, afraid that they have to stand-up most of their ride in the traffic along EDSA. I don't mind standing cause I am pretty sure lots of people go down at Buendia, Estrella, Guadalupe, Pioneer, and Shaw. But every time I stand on the bus, I always wonder how we could improve our bus system just like in other countries.

Vancouver Christmas Market experience and review

Jomar and I have been planning to go here last year and even the year before, but somehow we never have gotten around to it. Today, after the Pokemon GO Community Day, we went to Jack Poole Plaza where the Vancouver Christmas Market is located. Then, it started raining. Merry Christmas! Nope, I'm not going to be drenched in the rain and endure the cold to be here. This rain is not in the forecast so it was completely unexpected. We decided to let the dark clouds pass inside the Starbucks at Shaw building across the street. After an hour, it stopped raining. Thank God! We lined up again and entered. It was still before sunset so it's bright. We took pictures around and feasted on the many great foods! I wish we could eat more but at some point, you just know that you're full.
