Christmas Eve Dinner and Celebration

2020 is a challenging year. Our family is big on Christmas. I remember the first time Jomar joined us for the first time, and he said it's amusing because you have a "program". LOL.

We have a Christmas Eve dinner. My sisters usually pick a cuisine, and we either order in or cook wonderful dishes we share at 6:00 PM. After dinner, we would watch one to two random movies, and by midnight we would exchange gifts (secret Santa is an annual tradition).

It's my first time preparing Noche Buena. I usually just bring desserts, and my mom and younger sister do the plating and table setting. This year is my first attempt at both!

This year it's different. We didn't go to Richmond, but we joined via video call. They ordered Chinese food, and we did too. We ate at the same time and were on a call the whole time. After dinner, Jomar and I watched the classic movie "It's a Wonderful Life" for the first time. By the time the movie is over, it's 11:00 PM. We watched a Bob's Burger episode then joined the second video call meeting to get ready for an exchange gift.

This year my dad got my youngest sister and vice versa. My mom got me, and I got my younger sister, and she got my mom. Then, Jomar got my brother and vice versa.

Gifts from family, friends, and work

We received more gifts than we anticipated. We are so loved and blessed. My new work gave me a Healthy Wave Mat and Cerra Water pitcher to give to my parents, which is the sweetest thing! My dad was already using it.

For exchange gifts, we got pajamas and bath towels. Then, my parents gave us a new shower curtain and slippers. My younger sister gave us a bathroom organizer and toilet holder. Our dear friend Mitch gave us a Kingdomino board game, a Harry Potter Lego, and a Twinnings tea set.

Lastly, Jomar's company sent each employee a big box which contains a pair of socks, a toque, and a hoodie with PayByPhone branding. It also includes the Click and Grow Smart Garden, which is exciting. In 3-4 months, we're going to have basil.

Happy Birthday, Baby Jesus! Merry Christmas, Everyone!
