Day 3 of Toronto Vacation: Ripley's Aquarium of Canada, CN Tower, and Distillery District

Image
After a long day at Niagara Falls yesterday, I woke up late (7:30 AM) to prepare for our day. Our first stop is breakfast at Tim Hortons to check out the Dream Donuts scene.  Rogers Centre Then, we walked to Rogers Centre, home of the Toronto Blue Jays (who lost their playoff game at home on our Day 1 here).  Did you watch the Pixar animated film Turning Red ? I love the movie, and the fictional 5-boy boy band 4*Town performed their sold-out concert in the SkyDome (the name of this stadium until 2005). Rogers Centre Statue of Edward S. "Ted" Rogers Ripley's Aquarium of Canada I absolutely love the Vancouver Aquarium, and it still is my favourite aquarium in Canada, even with the best effort of Ripley's Aquarium of Canada, which is

Day 2 of Toronto Vacation: Niagara Falls Day Tour

I ended my previous post with a bold claim of how good it felt to write outside of my home and in a hotel room while on vacation. Well, I didn't write a single post on this blog for the rest of the vacation. After touring around, we went back to the hotel exhausted. I want to write but have no energy for it. So hubby assured me it's okay not to write and that I should rest and relax. So when we arrive back at our hotel, we just watch whatever is on Food Network, something I miss since we don't have cable TV at home. Now, I am writing this post in Vancouver. Day 2 of our Toronto Vacation was on October 9, 2022. When planning our itinerary, I asked myself what one thing I would not miss during my first time in Ontario: seeing the majestic Niagara Falls. I searched for a day tour to Niagara from Toronto and found Niagara Falls Day Tour ( niagaratorontotours.com ). Niagara Falls Day Tour I woke up at 4:30 AM (unintentionally), which is 1:30

Day 1 of Toronto Vacation: Flight and Walking Around

Image
Yay! We're flying again, and it's our first flight and vacation outside of British Columbia since our trip to the Philippines in 2019. I woke up at 2:00 AM to shower and finalize our things, and by 3:30 AM, we were off to Vancouver International Airport. We grabbed breakfast from Green Bean Cafe since they're the only one open after security before 5:00 AM. We boarded the plane before 6:00 AM, and we were off! I just realized that flying outside of Manila always guarantees a view of some water (sea, lake, etc.), but flying domestically from Vancouver means seeing the Rockies and the prairies from above. Mountain peaks peeking through the clouds. I can see the flatlands of the prairies. I had more pictures, but they're not good because the window is dirty. But I'm just grateful to be flying again and have a chance to see this thing. As we descended to Toronto, we saw the famous CN Tower from afar and above. This is the best picture I can take through the dirty airpla

Labour Day Weekend Activities

It was a long weekend and what feels like the last weekend of sunshine before Vancouver returns to its usual Raincouver. In this post, I will share how Jomar and I enjoyed the weekend. Friday Night at Richmond Night Market We had zero plans in the morning of Friday, but by the afternoon, we decided to just go to the Richmond Night Market, and boy, was it fun. It's a gastronomic adventure! More details of what we ate are here . There were fewer people when the gate opened, making the Zoom Pass worth it. The market at full swing after 9:00 PM Saturday at Taiwanfest Vancouver Taiwanfest is back! Because we slept late the night before, we woke up later than usual Saturday morning, which meant arriving at Taiwanfest in Downtown Vancouver after 1:00 PM. View from Granville Bridge when we walked to Downtown Vancouver Taiwanfest Vancouver Taiwanfest Vancouver The only food vendor at the festival ran out of rice. 😭 We still ordered deep-fried chicken and deep-fried Taiwanese sausage to en
