Review: Moxie's Grill & Bar, Richmond

Image
It's Therese's birthday, and she always chooses a casual dining pub to have lunch or dinner with the family. Three years ago (2016), we went to Cactus Club Cafe Two years ago (2017), we went to Earls Kitchen + Bar Restaurants Last year (2018), we had Romer's Burger Bar This year (2019), we went to Moxie's Grill & Bar Moxie's Grill & Bar First, I love the service! Our server, Jessica, is friendly and she didn't hover around us as other waitresses do at other places. Second, I like the ambiance. Since we went there on Saturday for lunch, it's practically empty except for two other tables. We had fun catching up. It's been a while (Christmas?) since we're all together sharing a meal. It's great to spend time together. Lastly, the food is okay. I won't be coming back for the food, that's for sure. For appetizers, dad ordered Calamari and Tableside Fresh Smashed Guacamole which is amusing and fun to eat. Jessica smash

Review: The Rise of Food Delivery Apps in Vancouver

Image
Now a days, it's so easy to get food from restaurant from another part of the city. With the rise of food delivery apps like UberEats, DoorDash, SkipTheDishes, and so many others, it's so convenient to get your favorite burger without having to leave the comfort of your homes. This post is my review of each apps that I have used and the results. DoorDash Let's start with the one I use almost once a week. At Gumstix , we have our team weekly lunch and I am the one assigned to arrange food delivery or make reservation on rare occassions that we decide to leave our office. DoorDash is my go to app because of the Group Order feature. I just have to pick a restaurant, click Group Order, and send the generated link to my colleagues so they can add their order. We even have a set limit for each person so that we can stay on budget. As of this post, I have ordered 32 times at DoorDash from 24 different restaurants. Check out our Weekly Team Lunch map below. DoorDash is

Review: #DoubleyourLove in Pancake House

Image
I love Pancake House!  +Jomar  and I had lunch in Pancake House (Makati Medical Center branch) today and tried the #DoubleyourLove promo which serves two plates of their Spaghetti and Taco plus iced tea only for Php 350.00. It was a decent deal. My usual order in Pancake House is the House Special Set (spaghetti, taco, chicken, and iced tea) so I was happy to be eating both the spaghetti and taco. As an additional, we ordered 2-piece chicken with rice. Hehe. Gutom. Be sure to try the #DoubleyourLove promo of Pancake House! =) Happy eating!

Japanese Food Trip: Yabu (House of Katsu)

Image
I have to come to love Japanese cuisine, from a steaming bowl of ramen to the raw sashimi and sushi but of all the Japanese food I have tried, my ultimate favourite is the Japanese Curry. I have tried a lot of Japanese restaurants around Metro Manila and would always order the Japanese Katsu Curry. Last Sunday, I had my "love myself more day." I went shopping around Glorietta for corporate attire since I am about to start my new work. When consulting my trusted app,  +Foursquare  it suggested that I have lunch in Yabu in Glorietta 5. Thus, I had my Sunday lunch there alone. At first, people were looking at me like I am weird eating alone. The table on my left is a family while on my right is a couple, and here I am in the middle being in my usual Sunday alone-ness. Upon checking the menu, I decided to have the Chicken Katsu Curry Set. After giving my order, the waitress explained the Yabu tradition and discussed that all sides are unlimited. After around 10 minutes, my

Review: The Bayleaf Hotel in Intramuros

Image
Last December 6, 2013, our company had annual planning. We wanted to conduct it within Metro Manila, but the ambiance should not feel like you're in the busy metropolis. After searching and thinking, we end up with The Bayleaf Hotel in Intramuros. Morning View from the Conference Room For Php 1,250.00 per person, we had a conference room (complete with a television, marker, whiteboard, etc.) from 8:00am to 5:00pm, AM and PM snacks of our choice, and breakfast buffet at 9 Spoons . Not bad of a deal, right?

Review of Joy Bus: The Deluxe Coach of Genesis Transport, Inc.

During my trip to Baguio, last March 2, 2013, Jomar and I (as recommended by friends) decided to try the Joy Bus of Genesis. We went to the bus terminal the day before to make sure we have a ticket going to Baguio and asked for the cell phone number of the person to contact in Baguio so that we could reserve our returning ticket. Reservation Number in Baguio 0906-591-6011 . She doesn't reply though.

Cebu Pacific Official Receipt

I love flying with Cebu Pacific, but it was about to change after my experience yesterday. For this particular flight, I need an official receipt for liquidation purposes because a company will be paying for my trip. It says on their website that...

Review of MMDA's EDSA Bus Segregation

Ever since I started working (that was roughly two years ago), I would prefer to ride the bus on my way home. From Ayala near Paseo loading station, I would ride the bus that goes to SM Fairview. Most of the time it's chaotic. People would push each other (just like in the MRT) to get inside the bus. Others would prefer to wait for a more spacious looking bus in the hopes of getting a seat, afraid that they have to stand-up most of their ride in the traffic along EDSA. I don't mind standing cause I am pretty sure lots of people go down at Buendia, Estrella, Guadalupe, Pioneer, and Shaw. But every time I stand on the bus, I always wonder how we could improve our bus system just like in other countries.
