The Sri Lanka Adventure

Day 1 - Manila-Singapore-Colombo

My adventure started with our flight to SQ919. Singapore Airlines. It was the first time I am flying via the airline and they have in flight entertainment and full meal. I am seated beside +Benj and +Almondyseth. I watched 2 episodes of Family Guy, watched Maleficent for the third time, and was watching Big Bang Theory when we were about to land in Singapore.

After less than 2 hours, we were in our flight going to Colombo, Sri Lanka. I fell asleep as soon as I sat in the comfy seats of the plane. I was woke up when the food arrived. I started watching The Lego Movie (yay for in flight entertainment). In the middle of the movie I fell asleep and the stewardess turned off the monitor of my movie. Upon waking up, we found ourselves in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

SM Makati Food Trip: Bibimbob Express

SM Makati has been doing a lot of renovations the past few months and the first part that was finished is the newly renovated supermarket and food court in the lower ground floor of the mall. +Jomar Tigcal and I said we will try all the stalls in the food court and first one is Bibimbob Express.

Large Chicken Bibimbob (Php 119.00)

The thing about the new food court is that the stalls offer more expensive food than before it was renovated. As we walked around, I noticed that the food they are selling (on average) costs more than Php 100.00.

Anyway,  I liked the Bibimbob, actually. The way they presented the food would remind you of Pepper Lunch. We also ordered the Korean Dumping (Php 55 for four pieces) and it was way too oily.

Can't wait for our next food adventure! Happy eating!

All-Time Fave: Giligan's

When I have those bad days, I always crave for a feel good meal (usually during dinner). On top of head I would always choose, Giligan's, specifically their Kare-Kareng Gulay! I've been to their branches in Greenbelt 1, Glorietta 5, SM Megamall, TriNoma, Robinson's Galleria, and SM North EDSA.

Review: #DoubleyourLove in Pancake House

I love Pancake House! +Jomar and I had lunch in Pancake House (Makati Medical Center branch) today and tried the #DoubleyourLove promo which serves two plates of their Spaghetti and Taco plus iced tea only for Php 350.00. It was a decent deal.

My usual order in Pancake House is the House Special Set (spaghetti, taco, chicken, and iced tea) so I was happy to be eating both the spaghetti and taco. As an additional, we ordered 2-piece chicken with rice. Hehe. Gutom.

Be sure to try the #DoubleyourLove promo of Pancake House! =) Happy eating!

Food Trip near La Salle Taft: Exile on Main Street

+Joshua has been raving that we try this restaurant along Leon Guinto Street, walking distance from De La Salle University - Manila. Last August 16 (Saturday), we ( +Jomar , +Wayne , and Mitch) gave it a shot. We went there a little before 6:00 PM and thankfully, we arrived that time! Apparently, there's a board games night (every Saturday from 6:00PM to 10:00PM) organized by a group of people so the place could get really noisy and crowded during Saturday evening. According to Josh and his friend, it's not usually like that.

The Service

The service is okay. The waiter who served us didn't smile at all. He also looked tired and impatient. At first, I was a bit disappointed by that but I just told myself that it's okay. I mean, I could imagine how tired he might be running around getting and serving orders from all the people inside such a small place! Still, service could have been better.

The Food

What it lacked on service, it compensate with the yummy food we were served. +Wayne had the Tinapesto which was pesto pasta topped with tinapa. It was great! The serving is actually good for sharing since Wayne shared his Tinapesto with us. Too bad I was not able to take a photo of it! Probably, next time.

+Jomar and I (mostly me) decided to explore and order so many things. First, we ordered the Chicks-Shall-Fly (12 pieces @ Php 205.00) because I wanted to try both the Escape to China and Escape to Texas sauce. I love wings so this made me really happy! Escape to Texas was a bit spicy (the way I like it) while Escape to China was on the sweeter side (the way Jomar likes it) of things. Again, no photos because as soon as it arrived, we each grab our own wing. Hungry kids!

On top of the Chicks-Shall-Fly, we also had the Thigh Me Up, Thigh Me Down in Escape to China sauce. We ordered 2-pcs with rice @ Php 130.00.

On top of the chicken dished, Jomar and I had, we also ordered The White Stripes. It's pasta on white sauce with tasty meatballs. Though as a pesto lover, I still prefer the Tinapesto.

Overall, it was a good dining experience even if people would suddenly shout because of the intense board game session happening around us. The interior was also nice too bad I was not able to take photo (too crowded) but well, it's a good reason to come back! Though, if you want a quiet place to have long conversations with friends, don't go here on a Saturday evening.
